TOYOTA RAV4 HYBRID
TOYOTA RAV4 HYBRID
Toyota RAV4 Hybrid - Practical, pragmatic, but not so fresh.
Overview:
Toyota practically invented the compact RAV4 crossover with first in the mid-1990s, and it is still a big player in the segment with the fourth-generation RAV4 which has been there since. Like its predecessor, 2017 RAV4 is a small, car-based SUV with a five-seat standard (there is no third row is offered in this generation) and drives the front wheels or all good. As well as it did in the 90s, the RAV4 compete directly with the Honda CR-V, a lot of new entries has appeared in the following years including the Ford Escape, Kia Sportage, Hyundai Tucson, and Mazda CX-5. With only an average performance and styling are relatively plain, the RAV4 is not currently stands out among the competitive set. Even so, the RAV4 's reputation for practicality, comfort, and meaning it is give the CR-V a run for its money in the race of sale 2016: Toyota has sold 286.809 RAV4s through October for the CR-V 293.799 unit.
What's New:
As with many other Toyota models, 2017 RAV4 now has a long list of active-safety tool as standard on every model. What the company calls the Toyota safety sense-P consists of a forward-collision warning, lane-departure alert, help keep the lane, adaptive cruise control, and automatic high-beam lights.
RAV4 lineup also reached a little higher than ever before with a trim Platinum range-topping new to 2017. With the high price of $35.690 for front-wheel-drive (Add $1400 for the all-wheel drive), the monochromatic exterior including Platinum and fancy features like heated steering wheel, a power liftgate, and 360-degree views of the camera system.

What we like:
The practicality of being upheld in the RAV4 crossover, it has spacious interiors and mixed-use are packed well to carry people and goods. The rear seat offers plenty of legroom and headroom, and it also reclines. RAV4 cargo area also has a high lift-lower, making it easy to hoist heavy or large items into broad 38 cubic feet which grew to 73 cubic feet with the rear seats folded flat into the floor. Those interested in more efficient RAV4 hybrids do not need to give up a lot of space, because the batteries that take only two cubic feet of cargo space.
RAV4 also has comfortable and quiet ride, with sound insulation is better than some of its competitors, such as the Honda CR-V and the Mazda CX-5. The hybrid model is a relatively rare proposition in this segment — the Nissan Rogue is just another compact crossover to offer gas-electric powertrain — and the hybrid RAV4 all-wheel-drive-only produce efficiency improvements are useful for only $800 over the equivalent XLE AWD limited AWD models or gas.

What we don't like:
With a lifeless, vague steering and suspension is soft, the RAV4 is not much fun to drive, even for a small crossover. Standard 2.5-litre four-cylinder or a hybrid powertrain provides responsive acceleration, with hybrid crawl from zero to 60 mph in 8.3 seconds and AWD SE RAV4 takes 8.4 seconds. While hybrids at least make up for the relative sluggishness with EPA-rated 32 mpg combined, the standard four-cylinder engine the highest combined rating of 26 mpg falls far short of competitors that are faster, better-for-drive like 2016 Mazda CX-5 and number 29-mpg.
Given that the higher-trim models cost well into the upper-$ 30,000 range, designer-inspired dashboard and the use of hard plastic that is bleak. Most of the bland exterior styling is good, it doesn't look so upper class, although the refresh to 2016 at least gives the front end and the rear a more contemporary appearance.
Verdict: Toyota pioneered the segment now sits in the middle of the Pack.
